The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments are now complete and are available to buy or rent. The Sands Scarborough Water Park
Now that the apartments have been completed the next step in The Sands development is to start work on the Water Park complex that is to be built along side the apartments.
Plans for The Sands water park complex have been approved in 2012 and is expected to start in February 2013 and completed and open June 2014. When the park opens I will go and have a look round and post some pictures here for you to have a look at.
The plans show that the water park will include indoor and outdoor swimming pools including slides and a wave pool, a lazy river and an infinity pool overlooking the North Bay Sea.
The water park is going to have a flume ride called The Tornado and is expected to be the largest in the UK. The man behind the leisure company operator says the water park will be one of the greatest water parks in the UK.
Because the water park is going to have indoor and outdoor pools the complex can be used in good and bad weather conditions unlike the Atlantis water park that was there before.
Along with the water park The Sands development will see a new restaurant and car park built on the existing Burniston Road car park. There will be 29 holiday lodges built on the site that used to be the Kinderland play park.
The site that used to be Mr Marvel’s that overlooks the Scarborough open-air theatre will have 124 holiday homes built on it.
When the water park is built the leisure company will then start work on the lodges and then move onto building the holiday homes.
