Pancake Day Scarborough.
It’s that time of year again when Scarborough goes flipping crazy for the town’s annual Pancake Day celebrations.
This year Pancake Day in the the school half term Tuesday 17th February.
The Pancake Bell will kick things off at noon on the corner of North Street and Westborough with town crier Alan Booth and Mayor Cllr Pat Marsburg.
Then the fun begins with the Pancake Races on Aberdeen Walk from 12.15pm onwards.
The pancake races will be great fun with plenty of teams signed up with lots of local businesses taking part.
Students from Yorkshire Coast College are making the pancakes as they do every year, as well as students from Uniformed Services helping out.
Teams are going to be judged on fancy dress, pancake flipping and the amount of pancake left in the pan at the end of the race.
Pancake Day Scarborough Foreshore
My favourite part of Pancake day is taking our boys to the skipping on the sea front (South Bay) It is great fun and can get very busy even when the weather is not very good. It’s great to see so many children and parents down the South Bay enjoying the skipping-a great tradition of Scarborough and also enjoying the odd chip.
Foreshore Road will be closed to traffic so that children and adults can skip in the road.
