I have put together a list of Scarborough museums including places that are close to Scarborough like Ryedale, Pickering and Malton.

Information about Scarborough Museums
The Rotunda Museum is located on Vernon Road in Scarborough and their postcode for your satnav is YO11 2PT. The Rotunda Museum is close to the south bay beach and the best place to park would be in the Scarborough Council Underground car park (YO11 2HD). The price to park here is £2 for 1 hour, £3 for 2 hours, £5 for 6 hours and £6 for 24 hours.
The Rotunda Museum is open Tues – Sun from 10am – 5pm including bank holidays. At the museum you will find displays that teach you about the Geology of the Yorkshire Coast.
The museum has an events programme running throughout the year that can be enjoyed all age groups. The main programme is the Dinosaur fossil hunt along the Yorkshire coast from Staithes up to Whitand through Scarborough towards Filey. The Scarborough Fair Collection is located at the Flower of May Holiday Park at Lebberston Cliff (YO11 3NU) on the outskirts of Scarborough just past Cayton Bay not far from Filey.
The museum has a large collection of working vintage fairground rides including cars, trains and organs. They have steam engines on show, vintage farm vehicles and other vintage stalls and attractions.
The Scarborough Fair museum is open 11am – 4pm and the entrance fee is £5 for adults and £3 for children (5s and under are free). During the winter months the museum is only open on selected days so you should give them a call on 01723 586698 to find out the days they are open on.

Millenium Museum is located at the Harbourside (YO11 1PG) on the south bay beach in Scarborough. The best place to park would be in the South Bay Underground car park, find the prices and postcode above.
The millenium museum brings the history of Scarborough alive through models, sounds and smells of the past. For more details about the Millenium Museum you can give them a call on 01723 501000.
The millenium museum is open daily during the summer season from 10am – 10 pm and during the winter is open weekends only from 10am – 4pm.
The Scarborough Lifeboat Station is located on Foreshore Road (YO11 1PB) at the south bay beach. Again the best place to park would be in the South Bay Underground car park or in the West Pier car park that has the same postcode as the lifeboat station.
The Lifeboat Station has its own shop and is open from 10am – 4pm and you can call them on 01723 360520. This is the third oldest lifeboat station in the country and is well worth a look around if you are at the south bay beach in Scarborough.

Museums near Scarborough
Eden Camp is located in Malton (YO17 6RT) a short 16-mile drive away from Scarborough. We have two young boys aged 3 & 5 at the time we visited the camp and they loved it there.
The museum is inside an original prisoner of war camp where you can experience the sights, the sounds and smells of world war two. The museum is open 7 days a week all year round until the 23rd December and then re-opens on the second Monday in January. The museum is open from 10am – 5pm and costs £5.50 for adults and £4.50 for children (children under 5 are free).

Ryedale Folk Museum is located in Pickering (YO62 6UA) a short 20- mile drive away from Scarborough. This is an open-air museum showcasing re-built old style buildings including a 1950s post office, Elizabethan manor house, an Iron Age roundhouse plus others.
The museum has a model village to look round picturing Ryedale through the ages. There is also a selection of livestock including pigs, sheep and chickens for the kids to have a look at.

Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum is located at Saltburn the Sea (TS13 4AP) 28 miles from Scarborough.
The museum gives you the chance to experience the sights and sounds underground in a real ironstone mine.
The museum is open at different times throughout the year, just head on over to the Ironstone Museum website for all the opening times and entry prices.
