Is there anywhere I can park for free in Scarborough close to Peasholm Park? Everywhere has a residential disc zone, do I need a permit? What are the rules?

You can find free parking near Peasholm Park in Scarborough on several streets within a short walk. Notable spots include Northstead Manor Drive and Peasholm Drive. These streets are part of a disc zone where you can park for free for up to 3 hours. You will need to display a parking disc, which is available for free from most hotels, cafes, and shops in the area. Just set the time you arrive, and you’re good to go.

For overnight parking, Scarborough offers free parking from 6pm to 9am at various council-run car parks such as Marine Drive, Albion Road, and North Terrace.

If you prefer long-term parking, the Northstead Lower and Upper car parks are good options, with charges starting at £2.20 per hour and going up to £9 for 24 hours. These car parks also offer free parking during the winter months.

You can park on Manor Road in Scarborough and you do not need to pay and you do not require a parking disc. It is a short walk from there to Peasholm Park.
